her interview, Start Strong Director Ciairín de Buis outlined that the
step was significant, but should be seen as the first of many steps
needed to bring family leave in Ireland in line with best international
standards.
As part of its early Years #GE16 campaign, Start Strong is calling for the introduction of 6 months' paid parental leave over the lifetime of the next Government, giving parents the option of caring for their children at home for the critical first year of life.
